Support for School Leaders and Governors in Wales

Free webinar for school leaders and governors in Wales!
In September 2020, the Welsh Government launched Rights, respect, equality: statutory guidance to assist school governors, staff and relevant professionals working within a school environment in developing and implementing anti-bullying policies and strategies.
The Welsh Government is funding Kidscape to provide support to school leaders and governors to embed the guidance and improve their anti-bullying policy and practice. This includes a monthly webinar open to all school leaders and governors on the Rights, Respect, Equality guidance, as well as bespoke anti-bullying training for governors in Wales.
The Rights, Respect, Equality School Support Webinar is available free of charge for governors and school staff in Wales who are taking the lead in updating the school anti-bullying policy and strategy.
What happens in the webinar?
All school leads who sign up for the webinar will be provided with an audit tool and action plan to help update your anti-bullying policy and strategy over the next 3-12 months. The webinar will take you through the action plan step by step, with the opportunity for a Q and A.
The webinar will be delivered by members of the Kidscape team who have many years of experience in supporting schools with bullying prevention and response.

Feedback
92% of those who have attended the webinars to date say they found them extremely or very helpful with the following feedback:
"As a relatively new governor it has made me very aware of the need for this policy and the issues that need to be included."
"Clearly delivered content, step by step explanation. The pace was good and it offered lots of practical advice."
"I found the tips for ensuring a governor has a role in anti bullying helpful...also ways to involve students in leading the curriculum in terms of anti bullying to make it more relatable. Useful tips all round in particular for updating our anti bullying policy."
"All of it was extremely helpful. I loved the way you highlighted proactive rather than reactive. You made very clear links between school community and governors. The research facts and figures highlighted the extent of bullying in our schools and was sadly shocking."
"I will forward the slides to our SMT and the PSHE Well-being Team to look over and discuss when school resumes and we settle back into some sort of normality. I feel better informed to be part of this school discussion. Diolch."
