Books to build happy, healthy relationships
Reading can shape children's lives for the better. Here are our favourite reads for building happy, healthy relationships.
Why is reading good for children?
Studies have shown that there is a strong correlation between regular reading for pleasure and mental wellbeing (NLT 2018). Reading also improves a child’s empathy skills (Oatly 2016). Clearly, if we want our children to feel well in themselves, and feel empathy for others, reading is a great place to start.
Kat, our Parent Support manager, explains why books are so important for children - and what books have in common with windows and mirrors.
