Youth Community Leader Training

Duration: 2 hrs

Kidscape are delighted to share the Youth Community Leader training programme for those aged 14+ who actively participate in community life. The CPD-accredited training is currently available fully funded, so at no cost to the attendees or any organisation who may schedule the training on behalf of a group of young people.

What is the Youth Community Leader Training?

The aim of the training is to listen to young people about their challenges growing up, along with their hopes and fears for other young people growing up in their schools, communities and online today. We want to empower young people to be upstanders, to confidently support their peers by recognising the signs and symptoms of bullying and understanding the part that they play in challenging bullying and reporting it.

Participants will also learn practical strategies to be able to signpost to further help and support, and explore cyberbullying and the positive steps you can take to keep yourself and others safe from bullying and harm online.

Young people who participate in the training will also have an invitation to join the Kidscape Youth Advisory Group, which will help us to shape our provision and support in the future.

Of the young people who have attended the Youth Community Leader training:

• 100% felt more confident in understanding the causes and impact of bullying
• 100% felt better equipped to handle a bullying situation
• 100% felt more understanding of who, when and where to signpost for additional support in bullying situations

The training can be booked for groups across schools or youth and sports organisations. For more information about the Youth Community Leader Training and Youth Advisory Group, or to book a group training session, please contact programmes@kidscape.org.uk.
